Just finished this Red Gum Slab Dining Table. It is 2400 mm long by 1100 mm wide at the narrowest section and 750 mm high. I am finishing these tables with a 1st coat of Osmo Wood Wax Finish - Extra Thin and a 2nd coat of Osmo Polyx Oil (Satin). These Dining Tables are now offered for sale in the Offer section of my web site.

Its good to be getting on with the job of starting to do the joinery for a Silky Oak Hay Rake Table.
Progress made today.
Using my Oliver 12 " Helical Head Jointer supplied by Major Woodworking Equipment to dress the centre stretcher of this table.
Using my Jet 15" Thicknesser to dress the centre stretcher for this Silky Oak Hay Rake Table. This 15" Thicknesser was supplied by Major Woodworking Equipment.
Using my Lie-Nielsen #6 Bench Plane to finish dressing the 4 corner stretchers for this Silky Oak Hay Rake Table.
Using my Lie-Nielsen Block Plane to plane 5 mm chamfers onto the bottom of the 4 legs for this Silky Oak Hay Rake Table.
All 4 sets of chamfers now completed. I really enjoy using my Vesper Tools Try Squares to lay these out.
Setting out the mortice for the corner stretcher to go through a table leg. Colen Clenton's Marking Gauge is a joy to use.

Continuing to do lots of furniture repairs; attended my 3rd day of training for Furniture Finishing at Lidcombe TAFE; still working on making the table legs and sub-assembly for a Silky Oak Hay Rake Dining Table. This coming week will see more carving done in the evenings.

A busy week with lots of furniture repairs.
Glad to get 3 slabs of Silky Oak timber cut up yesterday and today to make the underbody of a Silky Oak - Hay Rake Dining Table.
Tomorrow, I need to erect 8 lengths of Picture Rail in 2 of our front bedrooms and I have 2 furniture repairs to do on Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday should give me the time to get all the sections of the Silky Oak Dining Table underbody glued up to size.

Have just completed my 2nd day of Stage 3 training for Furniture Finishing at Lidcombe TAFE. Learning how to do graining on mdf board.
Back in Wagga now and currently working on building the table base for a Silky Oak Hay Rake Table, finalising the design for an American Red Oak Tallboy and working on building a Red Cedar Desk for my wife.
Also managing to fit in several furniture repairs over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday.
